Investec Champions Cup: Bulls and Lions prepare for major openers

The Investec Champions Cup opener features high-stakes matchups involving South African clubs. Bulls coach Johan Ackermann has announced significant changes to his matchday 23 for the clash against Stade Français at Loftus Versfeld. The squad includes ten Springboks, with 19-year-old Luan Giliomee making his debut at full-back following his move from the Durban Sharks. The Bulls' lineup also features Handre Pollard and captain Elrigh Louw.

In France, two-time champions La Rochelle prepare to host the Lions at Stade Marcel-Deflandre. Lock Theo McFarland expressed confidence in his side ahead of the match, noting the excitement of facing the Johannesburg-based team. The Lions enter the competition seeking to recover from a recent heavy defeat against the Bulls, while La Rochelle looks to maintain their strong form in the French Top 14.
