Investigation continues into Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu helicopter crash

An investigation continues into the 2009 helicopter crash that killed BBP Chairman Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and others in Kahramanmaraş. Authorities have obtained statements from retired Colonel Ali Armağan and his wife, Şerife Armağan.

During questioning, investigators focused on F-4 fighter jet flights departing from Malatya Erhaç Airport at the time of the crash. Flight records were presented to Ali Armağan, detailing specific sorties involving him and other personnel. Armağan denied participating in TAKSAN flights over Kahramanmaraş, claiming his flight was a support mission and that he was performing interception duties over Sivas at the time of the accident.

Armağan also addressed radar discrepancies, suggesting that the F-4 aircraft may have disappeared from radar for approximately four minutes due to low-altitude flying in mountainous terrain, which can hinder detection.
