Investigation continues into the death of Noemi Impellizzeri in Catania

Investigations are ongoing into the death of 33-year-old Noemi Impellizzeri, who was found dead in her home in Riposto, Catania, on August 23. While the initial scene suggested suicide by hanging, the victim's family is contesting this theory. A private expert has reportedly excluded hanging as the cause of death, leading the family to suggest the scene may have been staged.

Tony Proiettò, 46, has been placed under investigation for murder. He denies any involvement in the death, claiming that Impellizzeri sent him text messages the night before her death expressing suicidal intent and asking him to care for her three minor children. To assist the investigation, Proiettò has handed over his phone containing these messages.

The Carabinieri's Scientific Investigation Department (Ris) from Messina is scheduled to join the inquiry next week. Investigators are also seeking to acquire footage from additional surveillance cameras to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.
