Investigation continues into the killing of Grey Noralba Sanmartin Villalba

Authorities in Pavia are conducting an autopsy on 36-year-old Grey Noralba Sanmartin Villalba, who was killed a week ago in Cuirone, a hamlet of Vergiate. The victim's partner, 53-year-old Marco Panichi, has confessed to the crime and traveled to his native Abruzzo following the incident.

Investigators have noted a high number of stab wounds inflicted on the victim. While the defense has characterized the killing as a reaction to an initial aggression by the victim—claiming Panichi sustained knife wounds to his arms—legal representatives for the suspect have described the motive as 'paroxysmal jealousy.'

Friends of the victim have described her as a person who never showed signs of violent behavior. The incident has left behind two minor children and family members in Colombia.
