Investigation Discovery announces new true crime docuseries

Investigation Discovery has announced two upcoming true crime projects focusing on notorious figures. The network will premiere “Unmasking a Monster: Aileen Wuornos,” a multi-part docuseries that utilizes digital replication and visual effects to re-examine the life and crimes of the American serial killer. The production, developed by Arrow Media, incorporates verified court transcripts, police reports, and interviews with lead detectives and undercover officers to provide a visual recreation of the investigation and Wuornos’s time on death row.

Additionally, the network will release “O. J. Unseen: Exploitation of Evil,” which explores the unreleased prank show “Juiced” starring O. J. Simpson. The project, filmed over a decade after Simpson’s murder acquittal, was reportedly pulled from the air after a crew member leaked the concept to the press, citing the show’s inappropriate premise of Simpson shocking victims with scenes inspired by his own criminal case.
