Investigation into attack on former Kerala Minister Veena George faces new scrutiny

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is re-examining the alleged attack on former Kerala Health Minister Veena George during a protest at the Kannur railway station on February 25. New medical evidence from Pariyaram Medical College indicates that while the former minister was admitted to the intensive care unit due to neck swelling, doctors reported no visible external injuries.

The investigation has been further complicated by changing testimonies. Abhilash, who previously alleged that Kerala Students Union (KSU) activists used weapons to attack the minister, has reportedly told investigators that he did not actually witness a weapon attack and had provided his initial statement at the former minister's direction.

Additionally, a female police inspector has stated she did not provide the statement previously attributed to her by investigators. Following these developments, the SIT is preparing a report for the Director General of Police recommending action against Abhilash for allegedly providing a false statement.
