Investigation into the murder of Michael Harding in Kentucky

The investigation into the September 2022 disappearance and death of 53-year-old businessman Michael Harding has linked Thomas Francis O’Donnell to the homicide. Harding’s remains were discovered in Burkesville, Kentucky, six days after he was reported missing.

Law enforcement officials utilized cellphone location data to connect O’Donnell to the crime scene. The investigation also scrutinized the financial records and phone activity of Harding’s wife, Julie Harding, a captain with the California Highway Patrol. While her frequent communication with certain numbers raised suspicions, she was not convicted in the case.

The case involved coordination between the Clay County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee and Kentucky authorities following urgent inquiries from Julie Harding regarding her husband's whereabouts.
