Investigation launched into death of Roxana Guiravica in Salta

Authorities in San José de Metán, Salta, are investigating the death of 28-year-old Roxana Guiravica, whose body was discovered in a wooded area near a landfill. The discovery was made by police officers who were searching for an escaped prisoner.

A preliminary autopsy conducted by the Forensic Thanatology Service of the Cuerpo de Investigaciones Fiscales (CIF) determined the cause of death to be mechanical asphyxia by hanging. Forensic specialists also noted three superficial cutting injuries on her left forearm, though these were not deemed fatal.

Guiravica's family has publicly contested the suicide hypothesis, expressing disbelief that the death was self-inflicted. They are demanding a thorough investigation to clarify the circumstances of her passing. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Salta has confirmed that the investigation remains open as further forensic examinations continue.
