Investment strategies for moderate-risk savings returns
Financial expert Douglas Boneparth, cofounder of Bone Fide Wealth, has identified several strategies for investors seeking higher returns on savings with moderate risk levels.
Boneparth suggests three primary options: dividend-paying stocks or ETFs from blue-chip companies, which can yield 3% to 5% annually; bond ladders using individual Treasuries or investment-grade corporate bonds to lock in yields; and balanced funds. Balanced funds, typically utilizing a 60/40 or 70/30 stock-to-bond ratio, have historically provided annual returns of 5% to 7% with lower volatility than pure equity investments.
He emphasizes that investors should match their investment strategy to their specific time horizon, noting that a longer period without needing the funds allows for a higher capacity to absorb risk and potentially achieve greater returns.
