Invictus Energy prepares for Musuma-1 drilling in Zimbabwe

Invictus Energy has reached a significant logistical milestone at its Cabora Bassa project in northern Zimbabwe with the completion and formal acceptance of the Musuma-1 well pad. The site, which includes necessary civil works and access road upgrades, has been inspected and signed off by drilling contractor Exalo Drilling SA.

The company is now proceeding with the relocation of Exalo’s Rig 202 from the Mukuyu-2 wellsite to the Musuma-1 location. Following the move, the contractor will perform rig-up operations, maintenance, and final inspections. Physical drilling is scheduled to commence in November.

Musuma-1 is a high-impact exploration well intended to test prospects on the eastern margin of the Cabora Bassa basin. The project aims to demonstrate the broader scale of the basin and de-risk future development. Invictus is targeting an estimated gross mean unrisked prospective resource of 1.2 trillion cubic feet of gas and 73 million barrels of condensate.
