Invictus Energy schedules November 2026 spud for Musuma-1 well in Zimbabwe

Invictus Energy Ltd (ASX:IVZ) has executed a Deed of Variation with Exalo Drilling S.A. to secure Rig 202 for the Musuma-1 exploration well at its Cabora Bassa project in Zimbabwe. The contract formalises rig preparation, mobilisation windows and well‑service procurement, moving the campaign into the execution phase. Construction of the wellpad and associated civil works will begin after customary cultural ceremonies with local leaders, and the rig is undergoing maintenance and operational‑readiness programmes ahead of relocation.

Musuma-1 targets an estimated gross‑mean unrisked prospective resource of about 1.2 trillion cubic feet of gas and 73 million barrels of condensate, representing the first high‑impact test outside the Mukuyu gas‑condensate discovery area. The well will evaluate new play types identified in the eastern licence area through the CB23 seismic survey, focusing on the Dande and Forest formations. Contracts for remaining well services are being prepared for award, with the November 2026 spud date now confirmed.
