Invima issues health alerts for unregistered supplements in Colombia

The National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) has issued health alerts regarding the sale of unregistered dietary supplements and peptides in Colombia.

One alert concerns Pumpkin Seed Oil-Hair Bond Softgels, a hair growth supplement marketed on social media and online platforms. Invima noted that the product lacks a valid sanitary registry and makes therapeutic claims, such as balancing DHT, which exceed the legal limitations for dietary supplements. Because the product has not been evaluated, its quality, safety, and efficacy remain unverified.

A second alert involves Biotech Peptides, products used for weight loss that are being distributed without legal authorization. The Governor's Office of Atlántico highlighted that these substances have not undergone the necessary regulatory evaluations to ensure consumer safety. Authorities recommend that the public avoid these products and verify sanitary authorizations before consuming any supplements.
