IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 port of 007 First Light is fully functional but will be released in late summer rather than the original spring window. The delay is intended to ensure the game meets the studio’s quality standards and avoids a sub‑par launch, a concern that arose after the Borderlands 4 release was delayed and effectively vanished from the platform.

Abrak emphasized the importance of Nintendo as a platform, noting steady sales of Hitman titles on the Switch 2 and pledging personal oversight to deliver a polished version.
