Ioannina doctor faces disciplinary action for unauthorized aesthetic procedures

The Medical Association of Ioannina has referred an Athens-based doctor to its disciplinary council following allegations of performing unauthorized aesthetic procedures at an aesthetic center in Ioannina. The doctor was reportedly not registered with the local Medical Association, which is a requirement for practicing in the region.

Evidence cited in the investigation includes audiovisual material allegedly capturing the doctor performing procedures, as well as a cooperation agreement between the physician and the aesthetic center. It is reported that the doctor transported his own equipment from Athens to the facility.

The National Organization for Medicines (EOF) is also conducting inspections at the site. The investigation follows public scrutiny regarding the safety of aesthetic procedures in Greece. The disciplinary council will now evaluate whether the doctor violated medical legislation and professional obligations.
