Ioannina hosts historical photography exhibition

The Gani Foundation is hosting a photography exhibition titled ‘Ioannina, the 1950s and 1960s: The city through old photographs from the collection of Vassilis Holevas’. Running from October 5 to October 30, 2026, the exhibition offers a historical look at the city’s post-war transformation.

The collection, curated by biochemist and researcher Vassilis Holevas, includes original photographs, postcards, negatives, and slides. The materials document the lake, streets, neighborhoods, historical buildings, and daily life, capturing period-specific elements such as vintage cars, bicycles, clothing, and forgotten professions.
