Ioannina to Host Sete Sóis Sete Luas Festival featuring Portuguese, Basque and Italian artists
The Municipality of Ioannina and the local Culture Directorate are organising a three‑night music festival, Sete Sóis Sete Luas, on 23‑25 July 2026. The free‑entry events will take place in the outdoor spaces of the Dimitris Hatzis Cultural Complex and the Museum of Silversmithing.
On Thursday, Portuguese fado guitarist Custódio Castelo will perform with singer Ana Paula Gonçalves. Friday’s programme showcases the Basque group Korrontzi, noted for blending traditional tríki music with contemporary influences. The Saturday finale features Neapolitan singer‑actress Fiorenza Calogero, presenting folk songs from Naples.
The festival, now in its 34th year, is part of a European cultural network of 30 cities across nine countries and has received recognition from the European Parliament. Former President of the Green Cape, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, serves as its honorary president. The event is supported by the Archaeological Service of Ioannina and the Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation.
