Ioannina–Heraklion pilot flights sell out

Tickets for the two pilot flights between Ioannina and Heraklion have sold out, signaling strong demand for a regular air connection between Epirus and Crete. All 174 seats on the chartered Aegean Airlines Airbus A320 have been filled for both directions, with a waiting list already forming despite the flights being scheduled for November.

The first test flight is set to depart Ioannina on Friday, November 20, at 10:30, arriving in Heraklion at 11:30. The return flight will depart Heraklion on Sunday, November 22, at 18:15, arriving in Ioannina at 19:15. The high level of interest highlights the perceived need for stable and economical air connectivity between these two regions and underscores the importance of upgrading the Ioannina airport infrastructure.
