Borussia Dortmund midfielder Giannis Konstantelias has successfully undergone surgery on his left knee following an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture. The injury occurred during his Bundesliga debut against Hamburger SV on August 29.

The procedure was performed in Munich by specialist surgeon Dr. Thore Zantop. Following the surgery, Konstantelias shared a positive update via social media, appearing in good spirits.

His rehabilitation plan will begin immediately, with the first stage taking place in Germany under the supervision of the club's medical staff for approximately two to three weeks. He is expected to return to Thessaloniki, Greece, in late September to continue the main phase of his recovery in a familiar environment. If the recovery proceeds without complications, he is projected to return to competitive action in five to six months, potentially around February or March.

To address his absence, Dortmund has loaned Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal to support the squad.
