IOLANDA releases debut album ‘Quebranto

Portuguese artist IOLANDA has released her debut album, titled ‘Quebranto’, which is now available on all digital platforms. The 13-track record incorporates elements of traditional folk music, fado, and pop, utilizing instruments such as the viola braguesa, cavaquinho, accordion, and synthesizers.

The album draws inspiration from the artist's roots and childhood traditions, including folk prayers and rituals. IOLANDA describes the project as a way to explore her identity by writing through tradition rather than just preserving it. The opening of the album features the voice of her grandmother, Lena.

A formal presentation of the album is scheduled for December 7 at the Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon, featuring a 360-degree stage setup.
