IOM Provides Humanitarian Aid to 17.8 Million People in 2025

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that it delivered humanitarian assistance to 17.8 million people across 170 countries and territories during 2025. The aid included emergency shelter for 7.3 million people, 4.2 million primary health consultations, and water, sanitation and hygiene services for 5.1 million people. IOM’s data and analysis contributed to 21 humanitarian response plans, helping governments and aid organisations target the most vulnerable.

The agency’s operations concentrated on conflict‑ and disaster‑affected regions such as Gaza, Haiti, Myanmar, Ukraine and the Sahel. Deputy Director General for Operations Ugochi Daniels noted that “conflicts, disasters, disease outbreaks and displacement drove needs to unprecedented levels, even as resources contracted dramatically,” but affirmed that IOM remained present where people needed it most.
