IONIOS AI assistant serves 57 countries for Taranto 2026

IONIOS, the official artificial intelligence assistant for the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, has reported significant engagement between July 16 and August 31. The system managed 3,519 conversations and 13,075 messages, addressing a total of 6,644 questions from users in 57 different countries.

The AI achieved a 98.3% utility rate in its responses. The most frequent inquiries involved competition schedules and times (19.8%), followed by ticket purchases (15.5%) and information regarding sporting disciplines (11.6%).

Operating 24/7, the platform provided information during hours when physical information points were closed. The service was accessed primarily via smartphone (99.5%) and featured automatic language recognition, supporting Italian, English, French, and transliterated Arabic to accommodate users from across the Mediterranean basin and beyond.
