IonQ reports record Q2 2026 revenue and lifts full‑year outlook

IonQ announced second‑quarter 2026 revenue of $80.1 million, a 287 % increase year‑over‑year and nearly four‑fold growth from the prior year. The surge was driven by expanding demand for its quantum computers and cloud services, with about half of the revenue coming from international customers. The company raised its full‑year revenue guidance to $280‑$290 million.

Management highlighted the recent acquisition of SkyWater Technologies, creating a vertically integrated, full‑stack quantum platform and strengthening its hardware supply chain. IonQ also secured a $28 million contract extension from DARPA, with an optional $30 million add‑on, and won an NRO contract for synthetic‑aperture radar data services. Partnerships with Sandia National Laboratories and Anduril were noted as part of its defense and national‑security initiatives.

Following the earnings release, IonQ’s shares rose about 12 % intraday, reaching $44.62, and traded up roughly 2 % after hours, after a 31.6 % decline in July. Analysts upgraded price targets, citing the strong revenue beat and the company’s expanding commercial and government customer base.
