Greek athletes secure multiple international medals in athletics and sailing

Greek athletes have achieved significant success across multiple international competitions. At the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, 17-year-old Eleni Iakovouki won the bronze medal in the 400m hurdles with a national record time of 55.99 seconds. Ioianna Rousou secured a silver medal in the 800m with a time of 2:03.08.

In sailing, the ILCA 4 World Championship in Aarhus, Denmark, saw a major Greek triumph with four medals: two golds for Eleni Triantou, a silver for Stefanos Samaras, and a bronze for Despoina Theodorakopoulou.

In swimming, Stergios Bilas set a new Greek national record in the 50m butterfly with a time of 22.93 seconds at the European Championships in Paris, qualifying for the semifinals. Additionally, the Greek national team set a national record in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the same event.

In basketball, the Greek women's U16 national team advanced to the European Championship Division B final after defeating Norway 82-52.
