Iowa 4-H youth showcase projects at 2026 State Fair

At the 2026 Iowa State Fair, more than 2,450 youth exhibitors presented 3,378 static 4-H exhibits across various disciplines, including agriculture, science, technology, and the arts. Iowa State University recognized several exceptional exhibits with scholarships and certificates through its various colleges and departments.

The 4-H horticulture show also reached a new milestone, setting a participation record with 50 exhibitors from 18 counties. Jefferson County 4-H secured second place in the overall county standings with 384 points. Individual honors were awarded to Jefferson County members Joseph Lanman, who ranked fifth in the top 10 individual exhibitors, and Jordan Miller, who placed ninth and earned reserve champion honors in the Vegetable Container Display class.
