Iowa defeats Iowa State 16-13 on late field goal

No. 21 Iowa defeated Iowa State 16-13 in the annual Cy-Hawk Series on Saturday night at Kinnick Stadium. The victory was secured by Caden Buhr, who connected on a 42-yard field goal with only 15 seconds remaining in the game.

Buhr contributed three field goals in total, including a 32-yarder that tied the game in the second half. Iowa's offense was led by quarterback Hank Brown, who completed 21 of 30 passes for 191 yards and a rushing touchdown. Tony Diaz recorded eight receptions for 95 yards, while Kamari Moulton led the ground game with 57 yards.

Defensively, the Hawkeyes held the Cyclones to 255 total yards and prevented them from scoring in the final 25 minutes of play. Cam Buffington led the defense with 15 tackles. The game concluded following a replay review that determined one second remained on the clock after an Iowa State drive, though the Cyclones lacked the timeouts necessary to execute a final play.
