Iowa Hawkeyes expected to start Jeremy Hecklinski at quarterback
Iowa football is expected to undergo a significant offensive change as Jeremy Hecklinski is poised to take over as starting quarterback for the upcoming game against Washington. The shift follows a shoulder injury sustained by current starter Hank Brown during Iowa’s recent loss to Ohio State.
Brown, an Auburn transfer, has led the Hawkeyes to a 4-1 start this season, recording 832 yards and five touchdowns with a 63 percent completion rate. However, Hecklinski, a former standout at Walton High School in Georgia, showed promise in a recent fourth-quarter appearance, completing all five of his pass attempts. Jimmy Sullivan is expected to serve as the backup for the Friday night Big Ten matchup.
