Iowa names Jeremy Hecklinski starting quarterback for Minnesota game

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz has announced Jeremy Hecklinski as the starting quarterback for the upcoming rivalry game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The decision follows Hecklinski’s performance in Iowa’s 41-24 victory over Washington, where he completed 73 percent of his passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns.

Hank Brown, who previously held the starting role, is returning from an AC joint sprain sustained during the game against Ohio State. Ferentz confirmed that Brown is fully healthy and will serve as the backup quarterback for the matchup. The coaching staff intends to continue evaluating the competition throughout the remainder of the season.
