Iowa State adds top women's wrestling recruit and four international swimmers for 2026‑27 season

Iowa State University announced that women's wrestling head coach Alli St. John has signed Chloe Sanders, the winningest female high‑school wrestler in Iowa history. Sanders posted a 219‑12 record, a perfect 58‑0 senior season and a state title at 135 pounds, joining a roster that already includes 13 transfers and three other high‑school signees.

In a separate announcement, Iowa State swimming and diving head coach Matt Leach added four athletes to the 2026‑27 roster. The group includes two Brazilian junior national champions, Beatriz "Bibi" Comini Romero and Mariana Caldeira, as well as American freshmen Claire Dobrydney from Virginia and Jenna Polking from Nebraska. The new recruits expand the team’s depth across multiple strokes and events.

Both signings are part of Iowa State’s effort to build competitive programs as the school prepares for its first NCAA women’s wrestling season in 2027‑28 and looks to strengthen its swimming and diving squad.
