Iowa State athletics updates in hockey and basketball

The Iowa State men’s club hockey team is preparing to travel to Fort Collins, Colorado, to face the Colorado State Rams. Following a recent win against Northern Illinois University, the Cyclones (2-4-0-1) aim to break a five-game losing streak. They will meet the undefeated Rams (2-0-0-0) in a two-game series at the EPIC Ice Arena this weekend.

In men’s basketball, guard Jamarion Batemon is expected to take on a larger role for the Iowa State Cyclones heading into his sophomore season. After a promising freshman year where he averaged 6.6 points per game and demonstrated defensive capabilities, Batemon may move into a starting position due to the extended absence of Killyan Toure. The team is currently preparing for upcoming matchups against Creighton and Northwestern.
