Iowa State coach Jimmy Rogers predicts Big 12 title game appearance

Iowa State head football coach Jimmy Rogers expressed strong confidence in his first season with the Cyclones, predicting the team can reach the Big 12 championship game.

Despite being picked last in the Big 12 preseason media poll and facing significant roster turnover—including 55 players transferring after Rogers replaced Matt Campbell—the new head coach maintains that he was hired to build a winning program. Rogers noted that he even voted for the Cyclones to reach the conference title game in an anonymous coaches poll, stating, “I was brought in to win.”

Team members, such as tight end Tyler Fortenberry, indicated that the coach's confidence is not unexpected given his previous coaching history at South Dakota State and Washington State.
