IPA announces AI governance forum and cybersecurity symposium in Japan

The Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA) has announced two upcoming technology-focused events in Japan.

The IPA Forum 2026 is scheduled for September 14 at the Hotel New Otani in Tokyo. The forum will feature keynote sessions addressing AI governance, trust and security, and the design of digital societies. Discussions will include topics such as AI-driven value creation, data connectivity, and digital human resource management. The event includes networking opportunities for executives, academics, and industry professionals.

Additionally, the Tohoku Cybersecurity Symposium 2026 will be held in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, from November 25 to 26, 2026. Organized by the Tohoku Cybersecurity Symposium Executive Committee in collaboration with the IPA and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the symposium aims to strengthen regional cybersecurity. The program is divided into a Management Day, focusing on leadership and resilience, and an Engineering Day, focusing on technical aspects like supply chain risks and AI security.
