IPA announces cybersecurity training and 2026 security white paper

The Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA) has announced several initiatives regarding cybersecurity education and reporting in Japan.

IPA is hosting ‘Security Camp 2026 Online’ for both beginner and intermediate levels. The beginner course, scheduled for December 19, focuses on foundational skills and utilizing AI for continuous learning. The intermediate course, held on December 19 and 20, covers web application security, cloud infrastructure, and practical implementation of security design. Applications for both courses are open until November 2, with selection based on submitted assignments.

Additionally, the IPA has released a pre-release PDF version of the ‘Information Security White Paper 2026’, titled ‘A New Era of Cyber Defense: Preparing for Double-Edged Evolution’. The report covers critical trends including active cyber defense measures, government initiatives regarding AI safety, and emerging threats to supply chains. The PDF is available for free download upon completion of a survey.
