IPAM joins ecological restoration exchange program in China
The Institute of Environmental Research of the Amazon (IPAM) participated in the ‘Ecological Civilization Flagship Knowledge Exchange Program’ in Beijing, organized by the China-World Bank Global Center for Ecological Systems and Transitions. The initiative aims to foster international cooperation in ecological restoration, sustainable agriculture, and pollution control.
During the event, participants reviewed successful nature-based solutions, including the recovery project of Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang province. This $150 million World Bank-funded project focuses on water management and food production, benefiting 13 million residents in the Yangtze River Delta. Additionally, IPAM representatives attended the 2nd Brazil–China Symposium on Forests and Nature in Hangzhou to discuss biodiversity, food security, and forest protection.
