IPB University students implement waste management program in Sukabumi

Students from IPB University (Institut Pertanian Bogor) have completed a community service program titled TASTE (Tonjong Atasi Sampah dengan Terpadu dan Efektif) in Tonjong Village, Palabuhanratu, Sukabumi Regency.

The initiative focused on addressing local waste issues through technology and education. Key activities included socializations regarding environmental impacts and the implementation of waste processing methods. To manage organic waste, students constructed compost bins using water drums to produce fertilizer for agricultural use. Additionally, simple incinerators were built to handle organic waste accumulating in village irrigation channels.

The program also included educational outreach at SDIT Darussalam Tonjong, where students from grades 1 to 6 received interactive lessons on waste types and environmental cleanliness to foster early awareness.
