Iperih tragedy: Investigation into family murder-suicide continues

Investigations are progressing in the Iperih tragedy involving the murder of two underage girls and the subsequent suicide of their father. Razgrad District Prosecutor Tihomir Todorov stated that the investigation is expected to conclude by the end of September.

Evidence suggests the incident may have been premeditated. On September 1, the father and his two daughters visited the mother's workplace, which prosecutors believe was intended as a final meeting. On that same day, a witness transported the father to Razgrad, where he reportedly lost a significant portion of money intended for a car purchase at a casino.

Investigators are examining several contributing factors, including the father's long-term gambling addiction and potential depressive disorder. While a formal written expert conclusion on his mental state is pending, psychologists present during interrogations noted signs of depression. Additionally, authorities are looking into reports of domestic violence, as family members and local officials indicated the mother had previously complained of abuse and filed reports with the police and prosecution.
