IperionX validates GenX™ continuous titanium production

IperionX has successfully validated GenX™, its next-generation continuous HAMR™ titanium production platform. The validation was achieved through four production campaigns at the company’s R&D facility in Virginia.

By moving away from the traditional batch model used in Kroll titanium production, the GenX™ system offers several operational advantages. Key results include a six-fold increase in throughput volume compared to batch HAMR™ systems and a reduction in power consumption by more than 75%. Additionally, the process requires 45% less magnesium and over 60% less hydrogen per kilogram of titanium powder.

All product samples met oxygen benchmarks, including ASTM Grade 5 for angular powder and Grade 23 for spherical titanium powder. Looking toward Q4 2026, IperionX plans to optimize the furnace, integrate it into a full production line, and advance engineering for its first industrial-scale production line.
