iPhone 18 Pro Max hardware analysis and accessory market trends

Technical analysis and consumer trends surrounding the iPhone 18 series have emerged following recent hardware teardowns and market activity.

TechInsights conducted a detailed teardown of the US-market iPhone 18 Pro Max (A3473), revealing the inclusion of a Qualcomm Snapdragon X80 5G modem and an Apple N1 wireless network chip. The device also features a new Apple-made 5G millimeter wave antenna module and an A20 Pro processor paired with LPDDR5X DRAM. Notably, while US models utilize Qualcomm modems, other regions, including Japan, appear to use the Apple C2 mobile communication modem.

In consumer markets, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, there is a significant surge in demand for high-end accessories. Customers are pre-ordering premium protective cases, some priced between 1.2 million and 2.9 million VND, alongside tempered glass and wireless chargers. Retailers report that accessory orders for the iPhone 18 series have increased three to four times compared to previous periods.
