Huawei and Apple hardware showcase major mobile performance leaps
Huawei has announced the launch of its Mate 90 series, scheduled for October 1. The lineup includes the Mate 90, Pro, Pro Max, and the premium RS Ultimate Design. A major highlight is the Ruiying Z10, an external camera module featuring a 1-inch CMOS sensor and 10x continuous optical zoom, designed to attach to high-end models like the Pro Max. The series will utilize the Kirin 9050 Pro chip, which features new LogicFolding technology. Design leaks suggest various color options, including a notable emerald green with a woven texture.
In separate mobile technology developments, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, powered by the A20 Pro SoC, have demonstrated significant gaming capabilities through emulation. Using the Madeira compatibility tool, developers have successfully run AAA PC titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2 at over 30 FPS and GTA V at averages between 66 and 80 FPS at 1080p resolution. These tests suggest the mobile hardware is approaching the performance levels of dedicated desktop graphics cards like the NVIDIA GTX 1650.
