iPhone Duo ergonomics tested for left-handed usability
Recent user testing and reports have highlighted the ergonomics of the iPhone Duo, specifically regarding its usability for left-handed individuals. Because the device features an asymmetrical design with a straight edge on the left side to accommodate the hinge mechanism, the grip and handling differ from traditional smartphones.
Video demonstrations, including one shared by user Tom Hitchins, show that despite the hinge placement, left-handed operation remains functional. Users have reported being able to reach from the left side across to the Dock on the right. However, discussions continue regarding whether the device's primary orientation favors right-handed users and whether future software accessibility options might allow for moving the Dock to the left side.
