iPhone Duo overheating claims investigated during charging tests

Tests conducted on the iPhone Duo addressed online reports regarding excessive heat during charging. The investigation compared two methods: USB-C wired charging and MagSafe wireless charging.

When using a USB-C cable, the device reached a maximum temperature of approximately 39 degrees Celsius, with other areas measuring around 36 degrees. During MagSafe wireless charging with an Anker MagGo Power Bank, the iPhone Duo itself reached about 35 degrees, while the power bank reached a higher temperature of approximately 44 degrees.

The results suggest that reported overheating may stem from the wireless power bank itself rather than a defect unique to the iPhone Duo. While the device does warm up during use, the levels observed are considered typical for smartphone charging processes.
