iPhone Duo relies exclusively on eSIM technology

Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, features no physical SIM slot, supporting only eSIM technology globally. This transition requires users in Vietnam to adapt their mobile connectivity methods.

Vietnamese carriers including Viettel, VinaPhone, and MobiFone all support eSIM. Users currently utilizing physical SIM cards must convert their existing subscriptions to eSIM via carrier apps or service points, which may incur fees. Once an eSIM is successfully activated on the iPhone Duo, the old physical SIM will cease to function.

For those already using eSIM, Apple provides a ‘Quick Transfer’ method to move the digital SIM from an old iPhone to the new device, provided the carrier supports the feature. Users are advised to verify conversion processes and costs with their specific providers before purchasing the new hardware to ensure uninterrupted service.
