Apple prepares major October hardware launch including iPhone Duo and HomePad

Apple is preparing a significant wave of hardware and software updates for October 2026. A central focus is the upcoming HomePad, a smart home display featuring a 6-inch square panel. This device, which may be released around October 13, is designed for both tabletop and wall-mounted use, serving as a hub for smart home control, video calls, and a digital photo frame via an iCloud-integrated Photo Face feature.

The foldable iPhone Duo is also set for release, with pre-orders expected in mid-October. The device will feature an enhanced StandBy mode in iOS 27 that functions without a charger. New software modes for the Duo include Home Camera, which allows users to monitor up to nine security camera feeds, and Home Modular for smart home management.

Other anticipated products include a new iPad mini with an OLED display and the A20 Pro chip, a second-generation HomePod mini, and a refreshed Apple TV 4K. Additionally, the Mac Studio lineup is expected to be completed with high-memory configurations. The month marks a strategic shift toward integrated smart home ecosystems and advanced foldable mobile technology.
