iPhone photography troubleshooting for blurry images
Blurry photos on iPhone devices are often caused by factors beyond a dirty lens, such as poor lighting conditions. Low light can cause autofocus to struggle, necessitate slower shutter speeds, and introduce noise that becomes more apparent after image compression.
To improve image clarity, users should first ensure the lens is cleaned with a microfiber cloth, avoiding direct application of liquids. Technical adjustments can also help: setting resolutions above 720p in camera settings and using the AE/AF LOCK feature by long-pressing the screen to prevent the focus from shifting unexpectedly.
For newer models, such as the iPhone 11 and later, Night Mode can be utilized to capture more detail in dark environments. For more advanced control over ISO and shutter speed, third-party applications or the use of a tripod to stabilize the device during long exposures are recommended.
