iPhone users can free storage and extend battery life with built‑in settings
Apple’s iPhone offers three native ways to uninstall apps: tap and hold the app icon on the Home screen, use the App Library, or go to Settings → General → iPhone Storage. Removing an app from the Home screen only hides the icon; the app and its data remain on the device until it is fully deleted via the App Library or Storage settings.
iOS also includes an Optimized Battery Charging feature that learns a user’s nightly charging routine and limits the charge to around 80 % until just before the phone is unplugged, reducing wear on the lithium‑ion battery. iPhone 15 and newer models let users set a custom maximum charge level (80 %, 90 % or 95 %). Older models can enable Optimized Battery Charging in Settings → Battery → Battery Health. Both features require a learning period of at least two weeks and several charge cycles.
