Ipiales business sector and Army seek mobility solutions
The Ipiales Chamber of Commerce and the Mechanized Cavalry Group No. 3 Cabal have held a working meeting to address security and mobility challenges near military installations in Ipiales, Colombia.
Key participants included Iván Flores, executive president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Lieutenant Colonel Luis Ronaldo Moreno, commander of the Cabal Group. The discussions focused on balancing necessary security measures with the need for fluid movement for pedestrians, drivers, and local residents.
A primary agreement reached was the relocation of the Army's security checkpoint to the interior of the military facilities. This move aims to free up exterior space and reduce traffic disruptions while maintaining the unit's surveillance and protection capabilities. Lieutenant Colonel Moreno emphasized that security decisions must respond to specific territorial conditions and maintain strong relationships between public forces, local institutions, and citizens.
