Ipiales Councilman criticizes Mayor Pantoja over administration failures

Ipiales Councilman Mauricio Portillo has renewed his criticisms of Mayor Amilcar Pantoja’s administration, citing a breakdown in communication between the Mayor’s office and the Municipal Council.

Portillo noted that while the Council initially supported the administration's development plan, management failures have since become evident. He specifically highlighted the lack of progress on priority issues, such as supporting vulnerable sectors and addressing the local water supply crisis.

Regarding the water crisis, Portillo argued that the issue stems not only from contaminated water sources but also from administrative decisions, including changes in water treatment inputs and difficulties with filtration systems.
