Encarnación merchants targeted by perfume scam using fake bank transfers
Merchants in Encarnación, Paraguay, have reported a scam involving two men posing as Brazilian citizens. The suspects allegedly used a fraudulent international bank transfer via Revolut to purchase approximately G. 9 million worth of high-value perfumes. The victims reported that the suspects provided a fake screenshot of a transfer for roughly 1,300 euros, but the funds were never credited to the merchants' accounts. Similar incidents have occurred in the area, with total losses reported exceeding G. 20 million, including stolen iPhones and perfumes.
