Latin American educational initiatives deploy technology to bridge digital gaps

Various educational and social initiatives across Latin America are focusing on bridging the digital divide through technology distribution and digital literacy training.

In Chile, JUNAEB has distributed computers and internet access to students in Puente Alto and Monte Patria to support learning and reduce inequality. Additionally, in Panquehue, a digital integration workshop helped seniors learn to use artificial intelligence and digital tools.

In Mexico, CECyTE Oaxaca delivered 120 computers to 13 educational centers in the Mixteca region to modernize infrastructure. In Colombia, the municipality of Ipiales provided computer equipment to the Institución Educativa del Sur to enhance digital competencies for students and teachers.

In Argentina, several programs are targeting professional and educational development. The Revolucioná tu Oficio program provides training and financing for tradespeople in La Rioja. Junior Achievement and Holcim Argentina are working to provide 4,000 students with career planning tools. Furthermore, a joint effort by Fundación Macro, Fundación Equidad, and OCASA distributed 132 refurbished computers to social and educational organizations nationwide. Finally, the Finnegans Foundation launched a job board to connect trained youth with employment opportunities.
