Goa to host IPL 2027 mini-auction on December 16

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027 mini-auction is reportedly scheduled to take place on December 16, 2026, in Goa. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet issued a formal email confirmation to franchise owners and CEOs, the logistics team has reportedly sent WhatsApp messages to the ten participating franchises to facilitate travel and accommodation arrangements.

The proposed venue is the ITC Grand Goa, with an auction briefing planned for December 15. This event marks the return of the IPL auction to India after three consecutive editions held in West Asian cities, including Dubai, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi.

The potential date of December 16 presents a scheduling conflict, as India is slated to play an ODI against Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on the same day. All ten franchises must submit their final lists of retained and released players by mid-November 2026 to finalize the auction pool.
