IPOB addresses grievances and accuses Imo State Governor of framing
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and regional leaders have highlighted ongoing tensions in South-East Nigeria. Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu stated that some of the group's grievances, specifically regarding injustice and marginalization, are valid and must be addressed to promote national unity. While Ikpeazu acknowledged these concerns, he noted that he does not support the separatist group's methods.
In a separate development, IPOB has accused Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma of attempting to frame Biafran agitators for the abduction of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. The group denied involvement in the kidnappings and called for an independent international investigation into the security situation in Imo State. IPOB alleged that the state's security lapses are being exploited for political purposes to demonize their movement.
